about

This collection of sounds is a combination of two worlds I’ve been exploring, the world of ‘Water’ through sound allied with the world of improvisation and expressing the ‘songs from above’.

Water is a very present element in Kurosounds, in this research I went through many states water exists, recording waves from the sea, streams, rain, snow steps and waves of the human body. The last song is a song entitled ‘The mirror’, it is the best way for me to express philosophical ideas. The lyrics are written below.

Songs from above is a collection of improvised sounds where lyrics and harmonies were let to be explored on the moment. The words on “High tides” are a poem that I wrote previously.
Find the lyrics below:

'The Mirror'

Can you hear under water
Hear the sounds of nature
Can you see under water
Breaking through the mirror

Can you see under water
Breaking through the mirror
Can hear under water
Hear the sounds of nature

Can you see through the mirror
Come a little closer
Can you see under water
See your true nature

Can you hear under water
See the true nature
Can you hear under water
Hear the sounds of nature

Hear the sounds of nature
Hear the sounds of nature

'High tides'

Deep inside
A vast ocean spreads in me
it's a dark place
Where infinite things hide

High tides uncover them sometimes
Letting them breath

I go diving in there from time to time
I deep my feet slowly into this dark matter
And get swallowed into the heart of it
Into the very core
Where nothing hides anymore

Surrounded by the darkest light
Nothing hides anymore

And then I see
I see them all
All of those things

They start to shine and sparkle all over
A multitude of colours have taken over
Taken the ocean for hostage
To become a galaxy
A vast sky where nothing hides and shines indefinitely

I then have to fly to come back out of me
A million constellations have enlighten me.
